Rosario G

Rosario has been a private duty hourly caregiver with us since January 2017.  After becoming a CNA, Rosario worked at a care community that specializes in memory care. There, she gained invaluable, hands-on experience with individuals afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. She transitioned to home care in 2011 and joined our team in January 2017. Prior to coming on board, Rosario spent 4 years working one-on-one with a client that had Parkinson’s. Her first assignment with Private Home Care required knowledge of Parkinson’s disease, as well as a skilled, Certified Nurse’s Aide that could provide safe assistance with all activities of daily living. In addition to the aforementioned, the client required medication reminders as well as a special diet to gain weight. From the first day there, it was clear that Rosario was the perfect fit for this client. In addition to following the client’s care plan, Rosario found creative ways to encourage her client to eat. She diligently communicated any relevant notes to her client’s family, his other caregivers, his care manager, and, eventually, his hospice team. Rosario was instrumental in helping keep her client remain happy and safe at home. Just as importantly, the stability Rosario brought to this assignment gave the client’s family much needed peace of mind.

When asked why she is a caregiver, this is what Rosario said:

“I love being a caregiver because I believe in the saying that everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. So, it’s important to just be kind. I take this to work with me every day. It is simple, but it is so important to be kind to one another. When we are kind, we find a lot in common with others.”

Rosario is originally from Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys spending being with her friends and family and volunteering with her church.
